Since the HPC-Wiki is an project to create a comprehensive knowledgebase, the primary focus is to ensure it's smooth operation and the operators of this site will handle all data accordingly. Whenever you edit an article, everything that you wrote or uploaded will be publicly available in conjunction with either your username or IP adress (if you did not create an account and signed in). Other than that this works just like every other wiki and your data will be handled similarly.

If that was not explicit enough, here is a longer and more detailed version:

On principle, you can use this website without revealing your identity. However, by voluntarily sending any information to this page (through a HTTP/HTTPS request or a contact form, for example) you consent to all of this information being retained and processed for any purpose we deem worthy within the next years. We might explicitly but not exclusively:

  • analyse the data statistically
  • use and leverage it in any way possible
  • share it and sell it to any third parties like e.g. your mother, who is wondering what your are doing all-day-long so that you can not call more often
  • give it to the NSA
  • correlate and accumulate it with google
  • feed it into skynet

Here is a short and explicitly non-exhausting list of data that we might get, store and use every time you visit this site:

  • name of the requested file
  • date and time of your request
  • transmitted data volume
  • IP adress
  • favourite color
  • name of the dog

If you have any question concerning the use of your data, please don't hesitate to ask and we will do our best, to give you all the non-legally-binding information we have.
